ORDINANCE NO. 02-18
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RISING STAR, TEXAS, TEMPORARILY REDUCING THE SPEED LIMIT FOR PORTIONS OF US HWY 183 WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF RISING STAR WHICH WILL BE UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS the Brownwood District of the Texas Department of Transportation (“Brownwood District TxDOT”) has requested, via minute order, a temporary Construction Speed Zone on US Hwy 183
WHEREAS, the Brownwood District TxDOT has requested that the City of Rising Star temporarily reduce the speed limit on certain segments of as Hwy 183 in the City Limits to a 25 MPH and 35 MPH Construction Speed Zone while a construction project is underway;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RISING STAR, TEXAS:
THAT, the City of Rising Star shall temporarily set the speed limit to 25 and 35 miles per hour along US Hwy 183 on the following portions within the City Limits:
(35 MPH) From Mile Point 11.209 to Mile Point 11.551, a distance of 0.342 miles; and
(25 MPH) From Mile Point 11.551 to Mile Point 12.293, a distance of 0.742 miles; and
(35 MPH) From Mile Point 12.293 to Mile Point 12.573, a distance of 0.280 miles; and
THAT, this Ordinance shall remain in effect until the time that the above project is complete and accepted by the Brownwood District TxDOT and the minute order has expired; and
THAT, upon termination of the minute order, the speed shall be set at the previously posted speed.
All Ordinances or part of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of that conflict.
