ORDINANCE NO 2007-002

ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO TRAILER HOUSES BEING LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF RISING STAR, TEXAS

          BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RISING STAR, TEXAS, that is shall be unlawful for any person to locate or maintain any trailer house at any location on State Highway 36, also known as East and West College Street and U.S. Highway 183, also known as North and South Main Street within the corporate limits of Rising Star or in any place in the City other than in a duly licensed and lawfully operated trailer house park, unless such person shall first secure a permit from the City Council, giving the name and address of the applicant and a description of the property upon which said trailer house is to be located. No permit shall be granted to any trailer house 14′ and under in width. The City Council shall refuse to grant any such permit unless the applicant shall first show to the satisfaction of the Council that there are adequate water and sanitary facilities available within reasonable distance of such trailer house location or that the applicant, upon locating upon such premises, shall provide or cause to be provided the same. It shall be unlawful for any person to maintain, locate, or live in any such trailer house without first obtaining such permit.

          Setback Requirements – Single lots must have a minimum setback from the property line of 8′ on each side and 15′ front and rear.

THE  VIOLATION   OF  THIS  ORDINANCE   SHALL  CONSTITUTE  A MISDEMEANOR, and any person convicted of such violation thereof shall be subject to a fine of not more than two hundred dollars ($200.00). Each transaction in violation of any of the provisions hereof shall be deemed a separate offense.
