Ordinance 28 – 1995

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE AMOUNT OF A TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLAR ($250.00) REWARD FOR THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF PERSONS FOUND GUILTY OF THE CRIME OF ARSON; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

          SECTION 1:  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RISING STAR, EASTLAND COUNTY, TEXAS:

 

          That the Ordinance providing a reward for the arrest and conviction of persons found guilty of the crime of Arson be, set at two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) and hereby to read as follows:

The City of Rising Star, Texas hereby offers a reward of TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS ($250.00) to anyone who secures and furnishes information necessary to and which results in arrest and conviction of any person or persons who commit the crime of Arson within the corporate limits of said City of Rising Star, Texas. This reward is a standing offer, and shall be paid out of the General Fund of the City of Rising Star, Texas.

          SECTION 2:  WHEREAS, the council declares an emergency to exist, this ordinance shall be effective immediately on its passage.

Before me, the undersigned authority, a Notary Public, in and for said County, Texas, on this day personally appeared Jerrell Bible, Mayor of the City of Rising Star, Texas, known to me to be the person and officer whose name is subscribed to the foregoing instrument, and acknowledged to me that the same was the act of said City of Rising Star, a Corporation and that he executed the same as the act of such corporation for the purposes and consideration therein expressed, and in the capacity therein stated.
