AGENDA ITEM # 1 CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Mayor and City Council was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Betsy Herron
Council Present: John Mashburn, Judy Kirby, Johnny Hubbard, Ross Self, Robert Higgins
Council Absent: None
Staff Present: Jan Clark-City Administrator, Sheriff Deputy Jon Simcik
Guest Present: Bill Thomas, Sande & Jerry Jackson, Jomy Campbell
AGENDA ITEM# 2 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE AND INVOCATION
Pledge of Allegiance said by all and the Invocation was said by Council John Mashburn.
AGENDA ITEM # 3 CITIZENS INPUT
Mr. Thomas commented on clean-up of neighbor property.
AGENDA ITEM # 4 APPROVAL OF MINUTES- MAY 91 2024
Motion made by Hubbard and seconded by Kirby to approve the Regular Minutes of the May 9, 2024.
Motion carried 5-0
AGENDA ITEM# 5 DISCUSSION AND APPROVAL OF STAFF REPORTS
- Financial Reports
- Utility Report
- Police Report-Sheriff Jason Weger
- Municipal Court Report
Financial Reports, Monthly Bill List, Utility Reports and Municipal Court Reports were presented by City Administrator. Deputy Sheriff Simcik presented Police report.
Council reviewed all reports.
City Administrator and Council expressed appreciation to Councilman Johnny Hubbard for his labor and funds to repair South Brewster Street.
Motion made by Mashburn and seconded by Self to approve all above reports as presented.
Motion carried 5-0
AGENDA ITEM # 6 APPOINTMENT OF MAYOR PRO-TEM
Johnny Hubbard nominated John Mashburn for Mayor Pro-Tern.
Motion made by Hubbard and seconded by Higgins to appoint John Mashburn as Mayor Pro Tern
Motion carried 5-0
AGENDA ITEM # 7 REVIEW AND SIGN CITY OF RISING STAR’S GAS DISTRIBUTION PIPELINE EMERGENCY PROCEDURES AND PUBLIC AWARENESS
Council signed and reviewed the Gas Distribution Pipeline Emergency Procedures and Public Awareness.
AGENDA ITEM # 8 ADMINISTRATOR COMMENTS
Administrator commented that Mike Nall was getting ready to begin laying new gas line, beginning at the Gas Gate.
FEMA left the Park this pm at 5 pm. Anyone that did not attend should send their application by internet.
Clean up of property was discussed and Council commented that they would do the clean up on their own time, not as Council members and use their own equipment.

There being no further business, motion made by Kirby and seconded by Mashburn to adjourn. Motion carried 5-0
